Gah, Grr Boo

I am in SUCH a bad mood right now  I just did the thing I hate the most - cutting our monster hedge.  It is such tiring work , it makes my arm shake then wobble and now they are all weak. My ears are ringing and I have a headache and I still have to make tea for everyone :-(

I did manage to get my washing hung out and dried before the rain came, however and we have been to the library today, but I am £2 lighter as I had to bribe middle munchkin into helping me clear up all the hedge clippings!

Tonight I am making up a few more art hangers and literary a couple of cards.  I have quite a lot of stock for Saturday but always have a nagging feeling that I need to make loads of stuff every time I do a fair, but I don’t think I do this time. I need to print out a few business cards because I am nearly out of Moo cards and I have no time to order more and need to print out some slips with future craft fair dates on them.  Hope my arms stop wobbling soon.

Doh!

I have just realised something about this blog so thought I would mention it, but knowing me I am the only one who didn’t realise this earlier  if you click on the photos a full size version comes up and if you click it again you get a super close up! When Wordpress updated I thought the photos had gotten smaller and couldn’t work out how to get them any bigger so now I realise they are thumbnails, so there you go a total  moment from me.

All Change

Sorry I have been absent again. It is the last week of the school holidays so we are trying to get everything together for the boys going back - I am so sure I am going to hear cries of “but where is my……” on Monday morning when we realise that we have, in fact, forgotten something!

Also need to let you know that the craft fairs I have been doing at Merchant Square for years are moving!  We are moving to 191 Ingram Street (near GOMA) to the Corinthian Bar. New venue, I am kinda excited :-) all my dates remain the same but the venue is different so if you are looking for me that is where I will be. Linky here: http://alcraft.homestead.com/ (rubbish linking , I know)

This Saturday I will be in The Winter Gardens in Glasgow Green as part of The World Pipeband Championships 8am (eep!) until 5pm. Selling crafts and not piping I would like to point out.

Here is a random photo of a bubble taken in our garden this summer when it wasn’t raining (do you remember that day?)

Take care, byeeeeeee.

My little guy was five years old, two days ago  where has my baby gone? I know they grow up but I am sure your life is stuck on fast forward as soon as a child is born. They change so much each day you don’t notice until you look back at photographs.

When my eldest two were at nursery we were presented with their handprints with a poem attached. I just realised that As nursery didn’t do this so I have just made our own. I am waiting on the paint drying but once it is dry I will laminate it and post a picture here I have added a photo at the end of this post. Here is the poem:

There used to be so many
Of my finger prints to see
On furniture and walls and things
From sticky, grubby me.

But if you stop and think awhile
You’ll see I’m growing fast
These little moments disappear
You can’t bring back the past.

So here is a small reminder
To keep, not throw away
Of tiny hands and how they looked
To make you smile someday.

Its hard to read it without welling up. I also found this on the internet which I will add too:

This is the hand
You used to hold
When I was only
__ years old.

I am off to sort out my boxes. My next fair is in the Winter Gardens in Glasgow Green. It is part of the World Pipeband Championships. I didn’t pay extra for electricity so i am going to try and scale down the stuff as i wont need my lights and extention lead! Might even make some more cards and things.

Bye all.

Bean Bags

Not the most interesting of items or the most challenging but…. I made five bean bags yesterday.

Tallest munchkin needs to practise throwing and catching (For his Occupational Therapy) so we needed some bean bags as they are easier to catch than balls. I bought some split peas to fill them as they were the cheapest dried food I could find, and I used up some of my fabric scraps including an old curtain from the boys room!  I could only make five as I only had 1kg of peas and it took 200g to fill each bag. The munchkins helped weigh out the peas.

I only photographed four of them because by the time I took the  photo one was ‘lost’ it has now been found, however.

Glad I took the photograph yesterday when it was sunny as it has gone all wet and rainy here now :-(

Craft Fair

Yesterdays craft fair went well, not brilliant but well. It was quite a small venue with only around twelve crafters. The organisers worked very hard and made sure there was a steady stream of visitors throughout the day and the other crafters were a friendly bunch. I am not sure if I am free to do any more Gather Marketplace events this year but I would like to do some next year.

Part of me doesn’t want to do any more craft fairs though, I am also thinking of downsizing of all the clobber I take to fairs. I was jealous of some of the crafters who put a few things in a shopping trolley and whizzed of (although they wee selling different stuff) whilst I was still struggling to fit stock into boxes and boxes in boxes! The situation was made worse by the fact that this fair was up a flight of narrow stars with a bend in them!

Never mind that is all next year I will see where I am in January.

Boxes Are Packed

All my boxes are packed for my fair tomorrow, looking forward to it as I feel I haven’t done a fair in aaaaages.

Thought of another reason for a badge maker - I could put badges on cards, how radical is that

I also want to try needle felting just what I need in my life - a new craft.

Night all.

Should I Buy It?

I hardly buy myself anything, ever. I rarely buy clothes and I hardly ever buy something for no good reason.  There is one thing I have wanted for ages well years actually and I only want it ‘because I do’ it is a badge maker.  Middle munchkin has a plastic one that does make badges but I want a proper heavy metal one that makes 1″ button badges. I don’t even wear badges, my children don’t wear badges but I really want to make them and I don’t know why.  I get jealous when I read crafty forums and blogs and people are buying/ have bought/ have owned for years a badge maker!!!! I think I need help.

I just can’t justify spending money on a badge maker so I can play around and make some badges and then sit and look at my pile of badges.  I had thought about selling them individually or maybe doing small run commissions but maybe I should just lie down until the want for a badge maker goes away (great that will be years of rest :-) )

*scurries off to search Ebay for second hand badge makers*

I’m Back!!

Didn’t mean to be away for so long - real life got in the way again!

Well I am back from my holidays we had a great time, got a few crafty ideas up my sleeve whilst I was away too so that is good.

I am doing a fair on Saturday 26th July in Ruthven Lane (West end of Glasgow) from 12pm till 5pm if anyone wants to join me :-) .I have been making up some stock for that. I have also been adding some photos and descriptions to my website but it is taking forever, think I will be lucky if I get my new site launched by 2009 but never mind hey.

I have a couple of photos for you too!

These are some ribbons I bought today from VV Rouleaux in Miller Street in Glasgow. I bought the polka dot ribbon to add to my craft stall as I have a pink spotty background on my new website so I am trying to match my stall and my site. I bought the hearts and butterflies because I think they are so sweet I have a small idea what I am going to do with them but will wait and see.

Another photo

These are some Chinese erasers I found in a shop and just felt I *had* to have them! so now I do :-)

Well gotta go now as it is the school holidays and I know some little guys that need my attention right now.

I’m Off!

Just a wee note to say I am off on me holibobs tomorrow, the bags are (kinda) packed, the house sitters are in place and I hope to do a bit of relaxing, no scrub that, a lot of relaxing.

As I am away, I will not be able to process any web orders, orders can still be placed but will not be processed until 14th July.

Hope you all have a fabby time over the next couple of weeks and I hope to return safe, sound and relaxed.

Byeeeeeee.
